Microbank Crystal Secures USD 5 Million Funding from Symbiotics Funds

Microbank Crystal is pleased to announce the successful completion of a new funding agreement with Symbiotics, a long-standing and trusted partner in inclusive and sustainable finance.

The transaction amounts to USD 5 million in senior debt, sourced from several funds managed by Symbiotics. The financing is denominated in Georgian Lari, ensuring that resources are closely aligned with the needs of local clients.

The proceeds will be directed toward supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as low and middle-income households across Georgia, empowering them to grow and thrive.

Crystal and Symbiotics have built a strong and enduring partnership over the years. This latest transaction not only deepens that collaboration but also reaffirms our shared commitment to advancing financial inclusion and sustainable development in Georgia.

“We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Symbiotics through this new transaction, which reinforces Crystal’s funding base and enables us to continue growing responsibly while creating long-term value for our stakeholders” – said Ilia Revia, CEO of Crystal.

“This new facility is part of our long-lasting partnership with Crystal, it witnesses the investors’ continued interest in supporting micro and SME business clients in Georgia. We are looking forward to maintaining and further building foreign direct investments in the region.” – commented Alexandr Fando, Regional Manager for Caucasus and Central Asia at Symbiotics Investments.
